About Jeff Lee Thomson

Jeff Lee Thomson is a native Coloradan who had early hopes of becoming an entomologist. That, however, lost out to his interest in and aptitude for art. Jeff creates art in a variety of styles, including surrealism, landscape, abstract, realism, impressionism, sculptures and sketches. He works with mediums such as acrylic and oil, and his work often focuses on themes of memory, nature, and inner landscapes. His paintings have appeared on various platforms, from fine art websites to social media, and a new book of his work was released in late 2024. His art is reminiscent, variously, of Hieronymus Bosch and Giuseppe Arcimboldo, with its multiple and overlapping images of nature and nightmare in turn. He develops these themes in his sketches, scratchboards and paintings. Jeff works spontaneously, preferring to add images and colors as inspiration strikes him. Currently he is producing a growing number of abstract and surrealist paintings - but retains an interest in insects, spiders and nature generally. Now based out of the Tampa Bay area, FL, Jeff also spends a significant amount of time fishing, gardening, and spending valued time with loved ones - including his family, pets, and significant other, Cassidy. In his free time, a favorite activity of Jeff’s with loved ones is exploring nature parks and botanical gardens.
